Florence Receives $10,000 Grant

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) Florence County Rescue Squad will be able to upgrade the personal protective equipment used by its first responders with a $10,355 grant from the Homeland Security Department, Congressman Steve Kagen, M.D. announced Friday.

The Rescue Squad received funding through the Assistance to Firefighters Grants program. The Florence County Rescue Squad will purchase protective boots, coats and pants for 20 of its personnel.

“This grant helps everyone in Florence County. The county depends on the Rescue Squad for emergency services and the Rescue Squad can now get the job done better than ever,” says Congressman Kagen.
