$31,000 For Allouez Fire Dept Grant to Upgrade Equipment

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) The Village of Allouez Fire Department has received a $31,298 grant from the Homeland Security Department, Congressman Steve Kagen, M.D. announced today.

The grant will be used to purchase an air compressor for refilling the scuba-like air tanks firefighters use for breathing in smoky environments. The department previously relied on neighboring departments to refill its tanks.

“I want to thank the Allouez Fire Department for serving the community every day. This will help them better do the job we all count on them for,” says Congressman Kagen.

The grant was made under the Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grants program.
